That was as ugly a game as it gets, my Steelers were out EVERYTHING on Sunday vs the big bad 49ers. Steelers get crushed 30-7 and it wasn't even that close.
Even Steelernation left that game early and allowed the 49er fans to TAKE OVER OUR STADIUM, it was a sad thing to see as this never happens in the BURGH! I felt so low and disgusted with the entire game from start to finish. We allowed the 49ers to come in and just slap us right in the face OVER AND OVER!
Lets take a look at the game, the first half was all 49ers as with about 4 min left we had managed just 1 freaking yard of offense, that has to be a record the Browns held for 25 years right? We did grab a small spark as we went on a 95 yard drive the ended in a Steeler TD, but any spark we had at the half was gone as soon as the Steelers defense looked like a JV team and let Mcaferty race 65 yards for a 49ers TD and the route was on.
The Steelers defense was playing its cover two zone of course and having Minka 25 yards from the line of scrimmage, our CBS were pathetic as L. Wallace should be cut, why do we play slow CBS with zero ball skills and draft a speedy kid and let him sit the bench? P. Peterson looks like he can be ok when he moves back inside, him outside one on one is just plain nasty as Greg Lloyd used to say. Our ILBs stunk up the place just the same as D. Bush did last year, nothing changed at all, they get crushed in the run game. Our def line was garbage all game, without Cam its just a basic fat guy line with no push.
Our offensive line was beyond slow and looked like they loved getting pushed back 5 yards at every play, no one on the line played even an average game, our RBs got a total of 7 carries, ARE YOU KIDDING ME ON THIS? 7 carries, this is even funny to write down. Our QB play was Bubby Brister style, dump off after dump off, no pocket protection, he didn't even use his mobility or legs all game, Pickett played like a HIGH SCHOOL QB, he was scared and his passes were all over the place, he had zero field reads.
Our WRs where doing what they do run slow routes and just wait in little zones to be open, why do we have a speedster WR in C. Auston and we don't put him on fly routes to get there def out of that 9 man front? T.ENDS on this team is a dinosaur position, we draft monsters and they just block, why do we never use the middle of the field? Mooth did have a solid TD catch and Davis pancaked Bosa I did love that.
Special teams are horrid again, we can't punt at all and our coverage is not in my screen until the punt returner has the ball. GROSS
Out coached in every faze of the game from start to finish.
ONE BRIGHT SPOT WAS MY BOY T.J.WATT what a player that dude is, 5 tackles, 2 f fumbles one he recovered himself and a tipped pass, this guy is now your STEELERS ALL TIME SACK KING!!!
Look, I understand its just one game, we don't need to panic or start firing coaches yet, this team has been feed all pre season how good they are and when they needed to be, they stunk, this will show them what a great team looks like and where they have to get to. This team will NOT QUIT as nor will I, We all ride together and fight together all season long.
I think this team takes out this beating on THE BROWNS ON MONDAY NIGHT IN THE BURGH, I think the Bengals beat the Ravens and everyone is at 1-1. I hope this team is MAD AS HELL, PISSED OFF and WILL DOMINATE THE BROWNIES.
This team is not this bad nor are the 49ers that good, it could be just a BAD BAD GAME.
