Steelers lose 20-10 To The SUNSHINE Jags!
Just when you thought things were back on track from last weeks I-Formation Power Football offense, this week was right back to the ugly offense with that dreaded delay draw and back in shotgun. The play calling was even worse considering it was a perfect rainy day to use POWER FOOTBALL.
It started out promising as Pickets first pass to D. Johnson looked like a first play first QT TD score, the only thing that was missing was D. Johnson forgot to catch the damn ball. It could of changed the game because after that the Steelers never called that play again.
WR G. Pickens gets a whopping 2 targets with 2 catches in a full game and one catch was for a TD, not sure why he is not targeted 10 times a game but that's how Canada rolls with his high school play book.Sometimes I just sit and scratch my head thinking why are we always in shotgun and not under center with a full back and RB in the rain running POWER FOOTBALL?
With this offense, we are now just waiting for a first down, its a shame that this defense who had problems, but for the most part keeps us in games can't get any rest. Our own offense is killing our own defense with 3n outs. This O.Line is dreadful but its not on them, the play call has them running zone blocking, these guys CAN'T ZONE BLOCK FOR THE LOVE OF GOD. This O.Line is built for TRAP AND COUNTER BLOCKING ONLY!
The refs are getting so bad in the NFL that fans are going to start doing something else on Sundays, the late hit on 3rd down was a perfect tackle and gets a flag, the neutral zone infraction on a FG is the first time I have ever heard this called on a FG attempt. The 3rd down P.I flag after the play, after the def celebrates getting off the field then comes the flag, if it's P.I flag it, why such a late flag? Enough about the crappy refs.
The defense played good, not great and not dominant the defensive line was man handled most of the game, the secondary is playing a soft cover 2 with 2 guys out of position. Minka injury screwed up the secondary and with T.J and Highsmith not doing much because of the fast release passing game from the SUNSHINE KID at Qb this secondary was toasted mostly on 3rd and shorts. Once again we can't seem to lock up the run game, they ran when they wanted and passed at will.
Tomlin was way out coached by Peterson and this week he had no adjustments, he allowed the JAGS players to treat our towel like garbage, they were stomping on it wiping on it and not one Steeler defended the towel. If this was JACK LAMBERT someone was going to get BROKEN...A.K.A That sunshine boy... Joe Greene would of went nuts for that alone. Those guys are all gone and today we got guys who just grab a free pay check.
It was good to see DEBO inducted and dude looks more pumped up to play then anyone we had on our defense for sure, he looks like he could of got to that sunshine kid a few times.
Not a lot to say, the offense is 29th in the NFL last year it was 28th and the year before it was 27th so we get worse with age. One last thing was our center is pure garbage, he can't block, cant move and now CAN'T EVEN SNAP A FOOTBALL, seemed like every snap was in the dirt to either QB.
The no flags on Pickett is going to get him sidelined he takes a lot of hits and gets no flags, Trubiski could be even worse as he will toss a pick into triple coverage before he takes any hits, at this point we should just start Mason at QB, next up is the Titans who already disrespected our towel last year.
