NO OFFENSE? NO PROBLEM! Steelers beat the Ravens 17-10 with another crazy solid defensive effort.
OK, OK... I know it wasn't pretty nor was it a good game by our offense, but damn, that defense could dominate a game, if only we can get this effort from them every game, or a little offensive help. I'll take that win and make it 6 out of the last 7 vs them dirty rats.
The Defense was awesome in the second half and kind of took over the game, a few big drops from the ravens WRS sure did help too, but T.J. WATT is not human, that guy is on a hole other level of play. Highsmith is starting to figure it out and with Watt and Highsmith, we could have the best pass rushing duo on the planet.
The ILBs were weak in the first half, but helped out big time in the 2nd half, making solid tackles and allowing the pressure to get to Lamar. The secondary was average all game, a few good plays , but for the most part guys were wide open in that soft cover 2 zone.
The O.line went back to traps and counter blocking, they must of heard me last week, they put Kenny under center and played some smash mouth run game, I would love to see a double T.End set with Hayward and Washington or even move Heyward to the FB position and just blow stuff up.
Canada still had me scratching my head on a lot of formations and that 3rd and one in the shotgun is killing me, you can run it under center, why use the shotgun to use a delay draw to Najee? Just mind blown on that one. He had a few play calls that worked with Warren, and Warren was giving us a huge spark on his runs.
Pickett was still a bit scared in the pocket, he seems to move his feet way to much and does not look down field, I wish we could use roll out runs with him or when things break down just have him take off. Pickens has to get 10 targets a game no matter who is covering him, he can make any DB look bad. We need more T.End targets and more SLANTS.
I thought Harbaugh looked unmotivated and his team was always tossing there helmets off, slamming them to the ground on the sideline, Lamar looked good, but we rattled him in the 4th and WATT was in his head.
All in all, I'm all in with Tomlin like I said at the start, he is my damn coach til he wants to leave, Canada needs to be let go, but I understand why its not going to happen, if you fire him and get a new O.C that guy will not want our offensive staff, he will want his own crew and that would be a complete make over in mid season.
Being 3-2 and in first place in the north is fine with me, I know the defense needs the offense to get clicking, i even think with an average offense this defense can win games for us.
