Phil Kessel Is The New NHL Iron Man.

Phil Kessel Is The New NHL Iron Man.

Kessel just keeps on rolling along.

The Golden Knights fan favorite, Phil Kessel breaks NHL record for consecutive games played, Kessel played in his 990th consecutive game breaking the record held by Keith Yandle who set the mark last season.

He began his streak on Nov. 3rd 2009 as a member of the Toronto Maple Leafs, he also spent time with the Bruins & Penguins. Phil has always been a fan favorite with his style of play along with his passion for the game, he kinda looks like your dad playing hockey, but seems to always play a solid game.

kessel also scored his 400th goal of his career late in the opening period. He received the puck from his teammate Brett Howden, roared his way down the ice and scored over the sharks goalie J. Reimer.

As a Penguins fan I was sad to see him go, but he wasn't the right fit for our style of hockey, he was a solid player, but contracts broke down and he was let go.

Congrats Phil Kessel, Mr. Iron Man of the NHL.
