The Steelers go to the west coast and get that huge win over the Rams 24-17!
ARE THE POWER RUNNING I-FORMATION TRAP BLOCKING STEELERS BACK FROM THE DEAD?
It sure was great to see them finally go into that I-formation and pound the ball, looked a little like the BUS and just moving people, as I said all year, they have to get back to smash mouth football and stop trying to have this o.line zone block, let them COUNTER AND TRAP BLOCK and go to the I-Power and run Najee with power.
The game started out looking like the bye week was just a week off as the Steelers offense began to look same old same old, delay draws, zone blocking, just horrid play calling, the Rams get the score at the half and get the 2nd half kick off, the only thing I was thinking about was I sure hope Mike Tomlin did some adjusting and fast.
Then we moved T.J to cover position and he gets a huge PICK OFF of Stafford, T.J. IS NOT HUMAN, he makes so many plays it's crazy, we take it to the 6 yard line, even this offense can get a score now right. They got the score and it changed the momentum of the game.
The defense played solid ball all day, they did give up a ton of catches to PUKA but who hasn't? I was thinking can this offense really move the ball, YES THEY DID, in the 4th QT we looked like a team that has a solid QB and a killer running game, it looked like the BUS WAS BACK, I can see Bill Cowher's face as we POWERED OUR WAY TO THE WIN.
Give some credit to Mike Tomlin on his 2nd half adjustments, he out coached Mcvay all day, the O.Line was moving the 3 time M.V.P Arron Donald off the ball like he was just another guy, they took over the game and finally played NASTY.
We finally seen Matt Canada call plays that are made for the team and the type of players we have, Najee was mad and ran hard, Warren continues to be electric and the return of D. Johnson made the difference for sure. Just wait till we start learning how to use the T.Ends in this power football Steelers style offense.
All in all i enjoyed that game, it's been a while since we took over a game with our run game, it wasn't perfect, but damn was it fun to watch. Now do we keep this I-formation going and then add in some play action and some T.End targets?
With 3 straight home games this team has a shot at a 7-2 mark and if they can play the way they played Sunday vs the Rams, we can build something fun for the rest of the season.
