The 2023 Preseason of Steelers football is finally here. STEELERS 27-17 WIN!
The Steelers preseason kicked of with our Steelers @ the Tamba Bucs and from what I seen from our starters it was very impressive. The first series what what I was most looking interested in watching and they did not let me down. Kenny took them on an 80 yard drive in 8 plays hat lead to a perfect pass to Pickens for the TD.
That offense looked season ready and the O.Line was almost perfect. The play calling was on point and that is hard for me to say when it comes to Matt Canads calls. He used the T>ENDS and I fell out of my chair, then he tossed in a solid screen and that's when I almost fainted. I have been insane hard on Canads for the past 2 years, his lay calling was HORRID. I wanted to be fair and also point out when he did solid play calling and last night he did a solid job, I was impressed.
Now with all the love going to our offense, we can't over look the Defense, yeah, I know there was no Cam, T.J and a few others, but did anyone see KWON ALEXANDER at MLB, I told everyone the kid was a stud pick up for this style of defense and I look like I as correct. Then I told you we have a guy that reminds me of MR. JACK HAM in Nick Herbig and that kid was LIT ON FIRE, I think we found us a mad dog player and a guy who could give T.J some breaks.
I was also looking at Loudermilk up front to find a 3rd guy to run with Cam and Okinjoby and I think we could have seen him. The tackling was crisp being that it was only the first preseason game. Looks like they did some tackling practices. The defensive pressure was electric all night and thats without T.J, Cam, Highsmith and Okinjoby.. No Minka, no Wallace, no JPJ or even Peterson. Very solid effort.
As far as more talk, You finally got to see what the fastest guy in the nfl lookes like in Calvin Auston, 4.1 speed is going to be deadly vs any CBS along with Pickens, Johnson and those MONSTER T.ENDS. Good luck defenses in trying to cover this crew.
I also liked the speed from Mcfarland Jr. he looks to be the perfect fit behind Najee and Warren, everything looks stacked, we even have back up linemen that can now play along with speed at ILB.
Got to give a shout out to Mason, I think another game like that and he could move to #2 behind Pickett, Najee wasn't himself, but Im not worried about him at all, Warren had a few tough runs and is a killer backup.
I was NOT IMPRESSED AT ALL WITH GREENE AT CENTER, he STUNK and can not play that position even as a back up, his role has to be at full back as a gimmick player, but do we waste a roster spot for that?
No injuries, and a solid win even if it's just preseason, it was a great team effort.
